Carrier Heat Pump Recall

Many of us here in Texas run our air conditioning unit a lot. We rely on the AC unit for comfort and to get a good night sleep during those miserable hot Texas nights. The worst thing to happen is that your HVAC system breaks down or worse… It catches on fire.

Well, this may be reality. Carrier and Bryant have just issued a full recall on its  2, 3, 4, and 5 ton size heat pump units sold under the Carrier Greenspeed and Bryant Evolution Extreme brand names. The reason was due to a fire hazard in the electrical system. The site states that “The capacitors in the fuse boards in the heat pumps can stop working causing the unit to overheat, posing a fire hazard.” See the full article HERE

Customers that purchased equipment or had this model installed can call Carrier toll-free at 844-864-8233 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. ET Monday through Friday

Electrical fires can be dangerous and even cause death. Not all of these units are going to explode or catch fire but be sure to call the company that installed the air conditioner or a local HVAC Contractor.
